Top Ten FAQ’s for New Car Buyers

September 20th, 2021 by

Congratulations on deciding to buy a new car! To help you pick your best ride, we at Kelsey Chevrolet in Greendale, IN, have prepared this top ten FAQ.

1. What’s the best car?

Because everybody is different, there’s no such thing as a best car for everyone. You need to figure out what it is you want in your ride. Are you commuting solo every day or are you in charge of your family’s transportation? Do you prefer plenty of power or better fuel economy? Are you after the lowest cost vehicle or do you want it loaded with the latest luxury amenities?

After you’ve decided what you’re looking for in a vehicle, come down to Kelsey Chevrolet and talk with one of our friendly sales consultants. We’ll help you pick the right ride from our extensive inventory.

2. Why should I buy from you?

Because the foundation of our business is “From our family to yours.” We’re interested in developing a long-term relationship with customers like you. Our deals are done with a warm and firm shake of the hand.

3. What’s the price?

The manufacturer suggested retail price is not the price that you pay for your vehicle. For one thing, your cost is usually lower as we negotiate the best deal for you. We also pass on to you any dealer incentives and special offers to bring your price down even lower.

Beyond that, you will also pay a vehicle registration fee, a documentation fee, sales tax, and the cost of any additional accessories or warranties.

4. What can I afford to pay?

The most convenient way to discover what you can afford to pay is to apply for financing before you come down. You can fill out our handy online form without cost or obligation. We will then examine your credit and get back to you with an auto loan. You can then confine your shopping to vehicles that meet your budget.

5. What’s the warranty?

Every new Chevrolet is guaranteed against defects, for the first three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. Most vehicles also receive a Limited Powertrain Warranty that lasts five years or 60,000 miles. Extensions and additional protection are available at extra cost.

6. What if I have a problem on the road?

Your new Chevrolet also comes with complimentary Roadside Assistance for five years or 100,000 miles. You can call the toll-free number 24 hours a day and seven days a week for help with vehicle unlocking, a change of flat tires, a battery jump-start, emergency fuel delivery, and towing to the nearest Chevrolet dealer.

7. Is maintenance free?

As part of Chevrolet Complete Care, you are entitled to one free maintenance visit within the first 12 months of ownership. This includes a multi-point vehicle inspection, and oil and oil filter change, tire rotation, and a refill of the diesel exhaust fluid for diesel-equipped models. Points for signing up with the MyChevrolet Rewards program can give you enough points for another free oil change.

8. Can I take a test drive?

We encourage you to come to our facility to test drive one or more models that you may be interested in owning. So don’t forget your driver’s license. We normally have a route that you can follow and a sales consultant can ride with you to answer any questions that you may have.

9. Can I trade in my current vehicle?

Yes, you can trade in your current car. Its value will reduce the amount of the loan that you have to finance, which lowers your monthly payments, reduces the total interest you have to pay, and lets you pay off the loan more quickly. In addition, all you have to do is to drive it to our dealership, hand us the keys, and drive off in your new purchase.

10. How do I customize my ride?

If you order a vehicle, you can typically specify the exterior color that you want as well as any interior options, such as upholstery material, interior color, and amenities. You’ll also discover a large selection of accessories in our Parts Department. Finally, after you take your vehicle home, you’ll find everything from air fresheners to car organizers at your local auto parts stores.
